Difference between abandonment and termination of service

The basic difference is of the person by whom the action is taken. Abandonment of service is a consequence of action of the employee and employer has no role in it. When employee himself remains absent from duty and does not come back inspite of various repeated calls from employer, it is presumed that employee has left the job of his own without submitting formal resignation, whereas in termination, it is the employer who initiates the action terminating the services of the employee either in accordance with the terms employment or due to any act of misconduct committed by the employee.

Annual increments are granted to motivate employees to expand their efforts and to work smartly. They provide them proper maintenance as they advance in age. Ordinarily speaking , there should be some minimum fixed annual increments to encourage workers for better work.
